ITI // Information Technology Institute AI for Creative Academia · 2026
File 01 // Why this program

Art hasn't left the pipeline. It moved up a layer.

Hosted on your campus

A capacity-building program for art & design teaching assistants

File 02 //

The gap this closes

The problem

Curricula update in years. Creative tooling now updates in months.

The approach

Artists create. TAs teach. AI handles the repetitive work.

Who it's for

Teaching assistants from art and design-related faculties. The cohort is intentionally mixed - cross-field comparison is part of the teaching method.

Entry level: digitally literate, not technically specialised. Assumed: working familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, and some Canva or Figma. Not required: any programming, AI development or automation experience.

Curriculum

Phase 1 - Foundation & mindset shift Topics 01–02
  • 01The Initialization SessionNot just an introduction but a whole mindset shifting session.
  • 02Prompting as a Creative LanguageEarlier we used to learn "How to use tools?". But now the question is "How to communicate tools?".
Phase 2 - Modern creative workflows Topics 03–09
  • 03Generative AI for Visual FieldsA pipeline, not a magic button. Explore variations quickly, then keep the ones that serve the teaching goal.
  • 04Agentic AI: From Tools to SystemsFrom “I command, it obeys” to designing systems that run on their own, according to your intent.
  • 05Technical Thinking for Non-ProgrammersA literacy class, not a coding class. How systems think - taught through metaphor, with no code written.
  • 06Automation Thinking Using AIRepeated admin becomes working no-code workflows.
  • 07No-Code Web & Digital PresenceAI has removed the technical barrier to a digital presence. The session proves it live: each TA publishes a page.
  • 08Narrative Thinking for Creative EducatorsIdentity is built from the stories we tell about ourselves. Narrative as infrastructure for learning, not decoration.
  • 093D, Spatial & Production PipelinesText to 3D to interactive scene, in the browser. Spatial literacy without expensive software or technical training.
Phase 3 - Ethics, specialisation & launch Topics 10–12 + module + project
  • 10AI Ethics & Academic IntegrityEthics runs through every topic; this session crystallises it into a personal position and a written course policy.
  • 11Fine Art, Branding & Visual IdentityWhat authorship means once the machine can generate: identity systems, moodboard automation, structured compositional critique.
  • 12From Tool to SaaSWhen does something built for one classroom become worth offering to others?
All twelve topics are core and run for every cohort. They are followed by optional field modules and a mentored graduation project.

Field modules

Each module stands alone as an optional topic, delivered by a field expert where possible

Module A Game Design & Interactive Experiences

Runs over two days: game design as systems, serious games beyond entertainment, and orchestrating AI to produce a playable prototype without code.

Module B VFX, Motion & Real-Time Media

AI video generation, multimodal synthesis, AI audio and voice, and the full short-form production pipeline.

Module C Architecture & Spatial Design

Sketch to photorealistic render, rapid style iteration, spatial storytelling, and an honest account of where AI fails.

Graduation project

One to two mentored weeks after the field module. Each TA picks one track and presents for five minutes.

Track 1 - Workflow automation tool

An AI-powered automation that solves a recurring teaching or administrative problem, with before-and-after timing.

Deliverable: working prototype + documentation + demo
Track 2 — AI-enhanced course module

One complete lesson from their current course, redesigned end to end with AI in the instructional design process.

Deliverable: lesson plan + materials + rationale
Track 3 — Creative production output

A high-fidelity piece in their own discipline — identity system, short video, interactive 3D scene or web portfolio — with every step documented.

Deliverable: final output + process log + reflection

How a cohort starts

Step 01 Overview shared

This document goes to the faculty leadership for the pilot phase, with a short call to answer questions.

Step 02 Faculty nominates

Each participating faculty puts forward candidates from its departments, up to a cohort of 15–20.

Step 03 TAs apply

Nominees complete a short form on their background and interests. Their answers shape the examples used in every session.

Step 04 ITI Filtration

Applicants will be picked based on their experiences & uploaded portfolios.

Applications are paused for now.

You can still open the form and draft your answers — nothing is sent yet, and your entries stay on that page. Sending arrives with the Supabase migration.
